You Matter. |
So this isn’t my usual post. And it’s certainly not one that I had planned but in light of recent events I am finding it harder and harder to NOT say.
This morning I told my husband to make me blog because I hadn’t done so in awhile. I truly was feeling uninspired and on top of that I had been fighting an awful cold, Nick was in the ER, and I just wasn’t feeling it…
Let’s just say… excuses had become the conductor of the train.
Recently I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching. In a growing business, it can be hard sometimes to remain confident and focused when it feels like the world around you STOPS believing.
I came into coaching with barely 100 friends on my social media platform, Facebook. But I did have a pretty great weight loss story. I was a full time teacher with no desire to leave the classroom but I desire to pay the grocery bills. My belief in the company was simple: the products worked. So I had to share it.
And share I did. Over and over again. Month after month. I just kept going.
But the key word you see is “I.”
I don’t know if it’s that I have a powerful belief, a strong work ethic, or a reason WHY I need to succeed now that’s stronger than my desire to throw in the towel, but if you’re reading this, I think I need to throw out the friendly reminder once again:
YOU MATTER.
This post isn’t so much about me. It’s about the reasons we give up. The reasons we stop believing. The reasons it will always be easier to take the straight and narrow.
Why Share This?
Dream Bigger than Your Fears |
This morning I woke up. I had a killer workout and I have been following my 21 Day Fix Meal Plan to a “T.” I have amazing results in a week- down 1.1 pounds and this incredible optimism when it comes to the new challenge group that speaks to my heart: CUP OF JOY CHALLENGE.
It was exactly what I needed.
My friend once told me, “When you get closer to God the devil has a way of becoming more present.” And I think the same is true for goals. When you set higher expectations of yourself, the more obstacles present themselves.
So as easy as it was to start the day on track.
Reality set in.
UnderstandingYOU Matter is What Keeps You Going. |
Demands of the day.
Failure after failure present themselves.
And that’s when it hits me:
It is easier to excuse the goals you’ve set for yourself.
It is easier to bow out gracefully.
It is easier to forget about the ripple effect you create by the decisions you make.
I could walk away.
I mean other people quit. Maybe I can too.
It would be easier.
But I am one of the weird ones. I am one of those people who just don’t give up. I am, at the end of the day, relentless when it comes to my purpose. You see, my job is to give people hope. I stand firm on that, even when I stand alone.
Your Daily Gratitude Reminder |
What I Intended to Share Today:
My original goal of this blog post was to tell you that the Leadership Training I went to was amazing. But the words weren’t coming out right.
Then I thought, let me combine the awesomeness of Super Saturday and the Leadership Training? But gosh- life did it again.
By the time I sat down at my computer to write the blog, the tears were in my eyes and I just couldn’t say what I am supposed to say.
Instead when I woke up, when my feet hit the floor, I made the decision to make it a good day despite all the reasons it feels otherwise.
What I am Actually Going to Share:
Maybe this will matter to one. Maybe this is what someone will share with me down the road that was a turning point for them. Maybe this is the post that someone needs to read so they understand they matter.
What Most People Won’t Say about Leadership:
I’m sharing this as a reminder. Sometimes leadership is just plain old lonely. You spend a lot of time in your own head, reflecting, brainstorming, thinking, and ultimately making choices.
Personal development will get you through time and again you will need to pick up a book because it’s the only way you’re going to pick up yourself.
Choices can be hard and hurtful and misunderstood, but they matter. Ask yourself, “Am I doing this in confidence that it will make a difference to ONE.
You’re going to fail. You’ll stand up, brush yourself off, and you will, much like Chumba Wumba said, “get knocked down but I get up again.” Because you need to move forward in the understanding that you matter and can make an impact.
As you continue on your journey, people around you will quit. They will walk away. They will give up because it’s easier. People you thought were running along side of you, will instead start cheering for you on the sidelines. You will smile but it will be a smile with a little hurt because you want them there with you.
And let’s face it, that just plain sucks.
But you have to keep going.
Because it matters. Your goals, the ones that mean so much to you, matter. They will create a ripple effect and potentially impact the lives of thousands.
It’s my job to continue to be the change we want to see in the world. Success is the same of the small efforts, repeated day in and day out. What, may I ask are you repeating?
So What’s Next?
Maybe you stumbled upon this post by chance. Maybe you are on your own leadership journey. Maybe you have been thinking of coaching yourself. But I caution you. I am on a journey to work with people who are ok with HARD. I want to work with people who get that this is a fulfilling business that takes time, consistency, and love to grow.
I want to work with the next Katy Ursta. I want to work with the people who are relentless in the mission of helping ONE.
My job is to give you the tools so you can begin to build the life you’ve always dreamed of instead of watching someone else live it. My job is to mentor you. It is NOT to convince you.
It is worth it, but you’ve gotta work it.
