Tahini: ground sesame seeds |
Happy New Year Everyone! SO if you are anything like me, you’ve made your New Year’s Resolution and perhaps one resolution is t eat just a little healthier in the new year. I absolutely love hummus, but last week in the grocery store, I noticed that most brand have quite a few artificial ingredients or added sugars.
Luckily I got a new food processor for Christmas, and I am going to put it to good use!
Ingredients:
2 (15 ounce) cans chickpeas, drained and rinsed
lemon juice to taste
1/2 cup tahini (ground sesame seeds)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 clove of fresh garlic
Water (optional) – just enough to get the right consistency
Paprika to taste
Directions:
Place all ingredients in your food processor and blend until smooth.
Enjoy with your favorite veggies or homemade pita chips.
Note: If your hummus is too thick, add either more lemon juice or a little water to loosen it up . I also sprinkle paprika on top!
(Makes 3 cups or 12 servings)
